Fw 190
The answer is yes, 3 Fw 190 A-0 was used in the Battle of Britain during october 1940 in the Stab JG 51, all of them carried the new camouflage 74/75/76, one of the plane was flown by Werner Mölders.

No - this is false information.
The first of 40 Fw190A-0 pre-production fighters were completed in October 1940 and tested at Rechlin in Germany. The Fw190A-0 did not reach France until March 1941 with the Fw190 testing squadron - and was never tested in combat. It was based near Paris at Le Bourget.
The Fw190A-1 didn't enter prodution until June 1941 and began reaching combat units in July.

So no, the Fw190 did not see combat during the Battle of Britain.

In October 1940 the Fw190A-0 had severe engine cooling problems (fixed only with the Fw190A-1) and was not ready for combat.
If the two available Fw190A-0 had been sent on a combat mission in October 1940, it would have been a complete waste of time. The engines would have probably failed and dropped the planes in the Channel (or even worse, forced one of them to crash-land in England, presenting the RAF with a Fw190 to test at Farnborough before it even reached Luftwaffe combat units!
In terms of combat effectiveness and damage done to the British, the two Fw190A-0's in October 1940 would have been less effective than the two Fw190A-8's that strafed Sword Beach on D-Day!

I think you are getting confused with the use of the Bf 109 F used by Werner Mölders in October 1940.lidrob wrote:The answer is yes, 3 Fw 190 A-0 was used in the Battle of Britain during october 1940 in the Stab JG 51, all of them carried the new camouflage 74/75/76, one of the plane was flown by Werner Mölders.

If the Germans had had FW-190:s in place of BF-109:s during Battle of Britain, yes they would have been much more effective. FW-190 is better than BF-109 in most respects: armament (does not matter much though since BF-190E was really armed heavily enough), speed, ability to accept battle damage and, regarding BoB, most important of all: flight endurance. With FW-190:s Germans could have established constant standing air patrols above southern England and basically deny the air space from british fighters.
In dogfights with FW-190:s against Spitfires and Hurricanes of 1940, the Germans would have done a slaughtering. Especially the Hurricane was not that great a dogfight aircraft. Finns and germans shot them down in drowes when the Russians used them in 1942.
Then again, with Spitfires of 1941 the Brits would also have been superior to the messerschmitts of 1940: technology was developing quick on both sides those days.

the fw-190 was superiror to the latest versions of the spitfire so i wouldnt expect the hurricanes to be much resistance. the british pilots were surprised when the focke wulf entered service in the battle of britain.
