Göring took command of the Luftwaffe in March 1935 and stayed commander until the end.
Don´t know which "other guy" you mean. :?

Crag, you need to elaborate more. Do you mean the respective commanders of air and ground formations? The different fronts?

Ritter von Greim was made head of the Lutwaffe on 28 April 1945 at the Berlin bunker after Hitler received Goering's signal proposing to take control of the country if the signal was not responded to. Von greim was charged with arresting Himmler and organising air attacks to relieve Berlin.

In 1933 when Hitler became Chancellor Goering was the Air Minister and his deputy Lt Gen Wever was appointed Chief of General staff for C-amt of the RLM. Wever lost his life in an air accident in the summer of 1936.

C-amt was the secret embyonic luftwaffe prior to 1935. Gen von Seeckt organised secret training at Lipetzk in the Urals and later in the Tyrols under Mussolini's protection.

I have heard another name mentioned as leader of the Luftwaffe and that was Oswald von Pohl, but don't understand his role at all ?
Any suggestions about von Pohl please ?
