Can anyone help me with an accurate translation of the term Fliegerzielgeschwader?
Thanks.

"Flier goal squadron", do you know what type of action this type of squadron performed?

The unit had aircrafts which towed air-targets for AA units to practice.
I would say "Air-target wing" or "Aircraft-target wing"

Ah hence the Flier Goal....I see, makes sense now. Yes, I think your translation is more precise.
