Actually went back to the library and got the book out.
It's called "Battle for the Airfields" by Norman Franks. Full of personnel accounts of the air attacks with plenty of appendices, though the author through his reasearch can't get a clear picture of the damage caused to the allies as a "Cover Up" immeadiatly after the event has ment that vital doc's were lost.
