luftwaffe sqadron insiginia ?

#1

Post by fran1942 » 26 May 2004, 01:01

Could anyone please identify this aircraft insigina. It is purportedly a cut-out souvenir from a Luftwaffe WW2 aircraft. I tend to think it may be American, but am totally open to opinions. Maybe someone has a book on luftwaffe squadron logos etc. ?
Thanks for any ID help on this symbol

no, I dont think so, I know he had a mickey mouse and there was also one other german fighter ace with a mickey mouse, but neither of those designs were the same as this one.

During the Spanish Civil War both sides painted cartoon characters on their aircraft. The Condor pilots(like Galland) who flew in the second world
war, continued to paint them on their aircraft. There were many variations of "Mickey Mouse" Cheers brustcan
