Another emblem...Jagdgeschwader 5?
Hi!
Again a emblem question.
The following photo shows some Kübelwagen of a Luftwaffe unit.
The caption says that it is with Jagdgeschwader 5 in Norway 1944. The emblem which is partly visible on the right does not look like any to me known emblem of JG5. It more looks like a parachute emblem of one of the Fallschirmjäger units.
Any comments wether JG 5 had such a emblem etc...?

Thanks Harri!
The foto is from a Waffen-Arsenal magazine about Kübelwagen.
I don´t know the emblem you mentioned either... where did you see it?

Re: emblem..
It is anyway an emblem of the unit of JG 5 which was in Northern Finland and Norway during the war. I'm now sure about that.Christoph Awender wrote:I don´t know the emblem you mentioned either... where did you see it?
Actually I didn't recognize the emblem at first but when I looked again a few minutes later I saw the marks of this rather unusual German emblem I described above. It just hit me like a lightning. Hopefully someone will scan a complete emblem and post it in here for you.
emblem....
The emblem is for III./JG 5 on the Bf 109 F and G variants.... 8)

II./JG 5 abzeichen......
Christoph :
You might find this interesting.......the II./JG 5 symbol, the Cloverleaf was taken by the units members when they became the Bf 109G-14 and G-10 equipped IV./JG 4 in the fall of 1944. Not all the Bf 109's of JG 4 wore this unit emblem though.
