Visit of the B-17 at Edmonton
Hey guys, for those of you whom are interested in such things, a B-17 from the Confederate Air Force (Arizona) is on display in my city's aircraft museum this week. I live in Edmonton Alberta by the way. The plane is called Sentimental Journey and was built in 1944. It never saw combat but was used for mapping and other such duties after the war. Then it was used as a water bomber in the United States until the Confederate Air Force purshased it (or it was donated??) and restored beautifullly. I beleive it is a G model, she looks great!! I saw it two years ago and got the full tour inside the plane as well. At the time, there was also a spanish built Heinkell 111 touring with it. Funny enough..there is more room inside the German plane than the American Giant I will try to scan some pictures for you guys if I can from inside and outside the airplane.

B-17 at Edmonton, Alberts
Hello, in August of 1996, the Nanaimo Aircadets brought CAF's B-17 and the He-111 to the Raymond Collishaw Airport. I went inside the He-111 first, and then the B-17. I too was amazed the width of the fueselage of the He-111 was way wider than the B-17. That was the best $5.00 I ever
spent in being able to go inside of both aircraft. On a sad note, on July 10, 2003 the He-111 crashed as it was making a landing at Cheyenne Municipal airport, Wyoming. The pilot reported engine failure, and both
the pilot and co-pilot were killed. brustcan

There were a number of B-17s that were captured by the Luftwaffe and given the cover designation Dornier Do 200. More info here:
