FW 189 C Variant

Any pics of this ground attack variation of the FW 189 would be appreciated especially of the cockpit. It's very difficult to find adequete pics on the net or in reference books that I know of.

I found one pic, it does not show the cockpit though. I'll check a book I have it may have some pics.

Thanks all... I'll remember the book Stormbird. Man that cockpit looks tiny compared to the original Fw 189. :lol: 8O

I believe that the cockpit setup was similar to the Hs129, ill have a look into this.

The cockpit layout is totally different as it is even more narrow and mainly because it was intended to be a two-seater with a rear gunner. Project was canceled because of the heavily armored plane was underpowered!

The Fw 189C was designed in competition with the Henschel Hs 129, but lost out to the Henschel design because it was more expensive, even though the Fw 189C and Hs 129 were underpowered with their air-cooled, inverted-V12 Argus As 410 engines and very difficult to fly.
