The official AHF Luftwaffe quiz thread

#1

We've had several different quizes running here in the forum for a while with great success and this new section has been open for a long while without one, so I'm starting one here too.

The rules are very simple:
The first one to post the correct answer to a question, posts a new question (must be on the Luftwaffe) and so on.

A question to get things started:

How many kills is August Lambert credited with?

A fighter plane (usually) "carrying" a heavier airplane, the latter being modified, so that i basically contained the engines and a big bomb (instead of the cockpit and such). The planes where connected by a few "struts"... When at the target, the smaller aircraft "released" the bigger, which continued on its course, eventually smashing into the target. Meanwhile, the fighter returned to teh base...

OK, a fairly simple one (the quiz-making parts of my brain are gone atm :P )...

What was so distinctive with the prop-driven fighters of JV44, mainly Fw-190D. that was (mostly) used to protect the Me-262 when taking of and landing?

(As I said, a simple one)

Almost what I had in mind... I think I'll give it anyway... White stripes on red bottom...

Your turn to ask a question.

Thank you.

I am a pilot.

I was shot down or crashed 13 times but only used my parachute once.

I failed to complete my 900th mission on a day in 1945 and spent 2 years in a hospital as a result of injuries recieved in what was my 13th wreck.

I had 176 victories at war's end.

regards
A :)
