hi,

this is not an answer to your question: 3 E-boat flottilas, the 1st, the 5th and the 2nd Training flottila, got more than 2,000 out on that day.

greetings, the pb

That's also impressive, pb but they weren't using Ju 88's and 188's designed for a crew of four!(hint)

Please carry on.

Thanks, Max.

Okay, how about this: From what aircraft used by the Luftwaffe was the postwar SE 3000 developed?

Ironmachine is right, it was the Focke-Achgelis Fa 223. The SE 3000 was a French development which first flew in 1948.

Well, I would be very, very surprised if he does not look like Kurt Kuhlmey, because he is Kurt Kuhlmey.
Over to you.

Thank you, Ironmachine

Which ace held the Luftwaffe's record for highest average of victories per mission? Name, number of victories, number of missions, and (for the mathematically inclined  ) his average?

Max

Clue: He was officially reported as missing in action on the Eastern Front before he was able to reach the 100 victory mark.

More Clues: All his victories came on the Eastern Front and included 20 Il-2's. He was awarded his Ritterkreuz posthumosly after being shot down during Operation Zitadelle.

Max

I think it may be Hubert Strassl. He was credited with 67 aerial victories in 221 missions, an average of 1 victory for every 3.3 missions. On 5 July 1943, he became a Triple-Ace in a Day when he shot down 15 enemy aircraft in four missions south of Orel. Killed 8 July 1943. (My source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hubert_Strassl.)
