NJRF 112 and Jafü Ostpreußen.
Hi all,
Based on new and re-evaluated old information I have updated the location of these 2 HQs. I have great difficulties finding additional information on Fliegerhorst Seewiesen and specific info about the actual location and type of construction for the GefStds. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please see:

Re: NJRF 112 and Jafü Ostpreußen
SES - The nearest Luftwaffe Fliegerhorst was Königsberg-Gutenfeld:
Gutenfeld (GER) (a.k.a. Königsberg-Gutenfeld) (54 40 30 N – 20 38 40 E)
General: Einsatzhafen 12 km ESE of Königsberg in East Prussia. Grass surface. Luftpark located there.
Air Units: (go to Google and enter: Gutenfeld site:ww2.dk ).
School Units: Arbeitsplatz for LKS Fürstenfeldbruck/LKS 4 (Königsberg-Neuhausen) (Nov 39 – Aug 40); Schule/FAR 53 (Nov 39 – Mar 41); Fl.Ausbildungs-Rgt. 53 (1940-41); Fliegerschule d.Lw. (S) 91940 – Jun 41); FFS A/B 122 (Mar 41); Arbeitsplatz for FFS A/B 51 (Elbing) (1942-43).
Station Commands: Fl.H.Kdtr. A Gutenfeld (1941-42); Fl.H.Kdtr. A(o) 5/I (Apr 44 – Feb 45).
Kommandant: Obstlt. Felix Wendler (24 Aug 42 - 21 Nov 42);
Station Units (on various dates): Werft-Abt. 106/I (Dec 44); Werft-Kp. 34 (c.Mar-Jul 41); Nachschub-Kp. d.Lw. 15/III ( ? – Aug 41); Trsp.Kol. d.Lw. 116/VI ( ? – Aug 41); Umrüstungskommando Ju 188 (Apr – Sep/Oct 44);
On 17 Dec 41: Luftpark Gutenfeld (later Luftpark 1/XI) (c. 1938-45); Lufttanklager Löwenhagen.
If you use the coordinates in Google Earth you can clearly see the old airfield and all of the military-style buildings around it. Seewiesen was never an airfield according to my information. The only things that were ever listed for Seewiesen were Ln. units.

Hi Larry,
Thanks a lot. I have also been advised from another source, that there never was an airfield at Seewiesen.

Re: NJRF 112 and Jafü Ostpreußen.
Hello!
About Königsberg, I did not know Königsberg-Gutenfeld airfield...that would make it the fourth airfield of Königsberg after Devau, Jesau and Neuhausen then...Note that the bombing traces are very much obvious and the locations of the large hangars are well visible (their apron and bases are still there); the firing butts are also well visible, and some of the buildings (the smaller ones to the south in the wood covered area) are original 1930, but the big ones if probably military are definitely from post-war times (logistical depots for russian army?)
The location SES has found for Jafü OstPreussen is still well visible on Google Earth; there are traces of excavations, and visibly there is a use as gravel pit or something...

Hi Jos,
Yes indeed. Two sources claim that there was a bunker, and from the excellent book “Wir Stegskopfer” I know that Ln personnel was actually posted to serve in Löwenhagen. BTW it was this info that was instrumental in finally pinning down the location.
So my theory is that the bunker was demolished by the Soviets, and the state of the foundation indicates to me, that the bunker cannot have been made of concrete.

Nearby there are the remains of an outpost and 5 adits, of which 4 have no entrances, but traces of them are visible from the surface and theoretically they can be excavated.
