But there are no Swords on Canaris's ribbon? The combatant version of the Hungarian Commemorative Medal had the Swords.

I know, do you agree it's the ribbon of the Hungarian Commemorative Medal that Canaris is wearing? Even though the ribbon is without Schwerter?

Yes the ribbon does not necessarily have to have a swords device on it.

Awards of Konteradmiral Werner Lindenau

Postby Kriegsmarine Großadmiral » 10 Nov 2017 14:01

I found some info about the awards of Konteradmiral Werner Lindenau:
-Eisernes Kreuz (1914) II. und I. Klasse
-Ehrenkreuz für Frontkämpfer
-Kriegsverdienstkreuz (1939) II. und I. Klasse
Did he recieve the Kriegsverdienstkreuz mit Schwertern or ohne Schwerter?
Thanks.

As an active officer I would assume he received the Kriegsverdienstkreuz mit Schwertern.

From my point fo view, Kriegsabzeichen für Minensuch-, U-Boot-Jagd- und Sicherungsverbände. Rieve served during the War on coastal duties (Oslo Por commandant, commander of Channel Coast, Naval Station of North Sea), and this badge is very charasteristic of those duties.
