Oberst Konrad Sinz

#1

Post by iggy88 » 24 Apr 2019, 07:53

According to the 10 Nov 1941 entry in the KTB of 62. Infanterie-Division, while conducting operations against Partisans ("Säuberungsaktionen"), units from IR 190 came across the corpses of Obst. Sinz and his 2 escorts in Baranowka. They had apparently been shot on 06 Nov 1941.
Does anyone have a bio for Sinz? Thank you in advance.

Thanks, Rossano

Konrad Sinz (14.12.1891-06.11.1941) was obviously a reactivated officer - without Reichsheer or Police Service.

He was reactivated into Pionierbatataillon 3 (Küstrin) as Hauptmann 01.02.1928 ( ). He is already shown with this data in the 01.10.1934 rank list.

He was promoted Maj. 01.01.1935 (13) and Kp. Kdt. 3. Kp.

On 06.10.1936 he became Kdr. Pi. Btl. 24. He was promoted Oberstleutnant 01.10.1937 (26).

His final rank was Oberst 01.09.1940 (26).

Rossano,
The 08 Apr 1942 entry of the 62. ID KTB mentions Obst. Hans Mikosch as Kdr. Pi.Rgt.St. 677 on that date.

In Vol. III of the KTB of Lt. Hans Hoffmann (IR 212) is a reprint of an Armeebefehl stating that Oberst Sinz and 2 of his Pioniers were KIA in the night 5.11.41 to 6.11.41 due to a partisan attack.
