Major Birkenbihl

Post by CNE503 » 15 May 2019, 21:25

Hello,
I'm looking for information about this officer. He was a Major commanding the (Lehr-)Pionier-Bataillon 651 in Romania early April 1941.
Thank you for any help provided.
Regards, CNE503

According to someone that I thank here, he was probably Hans-Erich Birkenbihl, who commanded Pionier-Bataillon 32 in 1939 and finished the war as an Oberst (promoted on June 1st, 1944).

They were half-brothers. Both were officers in PB 27 in World War I, although Walter was originally commissioned in PB 7.
