Thierry,
unfortunately not. I have the IR 155 regimental history at home, but Plewig left the regiment before the war, so the trail ends there.

Hello,

does anyone have genialogical information on this officer?
Among other things, I am interested in a possible connection to the 06.01.11 in Ostrowo born Ritterkreuzträger Waldemar Plewig.

A brother Richard born in 1884 is said to have died in Reval in December 1945 as a Colonel.

However, there seem to have been other brothers in the military. For example, Hans Plewig was killed on November 7, 1914 as a member of the 3rd Company of the Reserve Jaeger Battalion No. 16 near Bixschote by a shot in the head.

Kind regards
Jan

Assuming the family tree on Ancestry is accurate, Rittergutsbesitzer and Major a.D. Richard Plewig (*18.04.1937 in Leobschütz, †04.11.1904 in Oberneuland) had five sons: Kurt, Willi, Richard, Hans and Walter. This appears to be accurate, or at least matches what information I have.

1. Plewig, Kurt, *07.09.1873 in Höxter in Westfalen, †29.08.1918 im Kriegslazarett 32a in Hirson; Major, Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 155, zum Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 47 kommandiert.
2. Plewig, Willi, *08.07.1880 in Detmold, †28.02.1945 in Schmalkalden; Generalmajor.
3. Plewig, Richard Paul Josef Maria, *07.01.1884 auf Karlshof, Oberneuland, Neiße, †xx.12.1945 in Reval, Estland; Oberst (1.2.42).
4. Plewig, Hans, *xx.xx.1886 auf Karlshof, Oberneuland, Neiße, gef. 07.11.1914 bei Bixschoote; Ingenieur, Kriegsfreiwilliger-Jäger.
5. Plewig, Walter Franz Maria Ernst Albrecht, *28.10.1888 auf Karlshof, Oberneuland, Neiße, †29.03.1918 in Dechy infolge Verwundung am 28.03.1918 bei Arras; Hauptmann, Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 23.

Richard was in the II. Bataillon of Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 55 in Höxter in 1873 when Kurt was born, on the staff of Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 55 in Detmold in 1880 when Willi was born, and Rittergutsbesitzer auf Domäne Karlshof when the other three were born.

I cannot say for certain, but Willi is likely the father of Hans-Joachim Plewig (14.04.1915-07.01.1942) who died of wounds as a Hauptmann (nachträglich Major) in Infanterie-Regiment 233. Hans-Joachim was born in Erfurt, where Willi resided as Adjutant of the Landwehr-Inspektion.

As for Waldemar, that he was Willi's son seems most likely. Waldemar was born in Ostrowo. Willi was Regiments-Adjutant of Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 155 in Ostrowo in 1911. Kurt was also in Ostrowo in 1911 as Chef, 4./Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 155, but he was transferred there on 27 January from Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 51, after Waldemar was born.

Richard jr. had three sons, Peter, *28.09.1913 in Neiße, Klaus, *15.01.1917 in Borkendorf, and Dieter, *18.01.1921 in Borkendorf. They were of age to have served in the Wehrmacht, but I have no information if they did.

The other active Wehrmacht officer named Plewig, Alfred Eugen Edgar Plewig from WMA Kempen and WMA Krefeld, was born on 23.07.1895 in Königsberg in Ostpreußen. He was married in 1934 and had no children as of his 1944 Beurteilung. His father was Major beim Zeugamt a.D. Eugen Plewig (†1933). I have no idea if they were related to the others above, but Feuerwerks officers usually came out of the enlisted ranks, so Eugen was probably not closely related to the various bourgeois Plewigs who were Rittergutsbesitzer.
