Hi Dieter,
Darf ich fragen: Woher stammen diese Informationen? Gibt es mehr über Göring, als es am weiteren Führerhauptquartier war?

Danke

Whereabouts of Göring in August 1942

Post by Mori » 04 Jul 2020 12:22

Hello,

I'm looking for the agenda of Hermann Göring in the first week of August 1942: where he was, whom he met. Where can I find such information?

Thanks.

Are you referring to the "Nuremberg Diary," by Gustave Gilbert, in which Goering's interviews are included? Or is there a personal diary he had (I'm unaware if he did)?:

Goebbels diary is probably the most complete of any of the Third Reich elite.

Good afternoon "oquaig",

what a diary are you asking for, there is no Hermann Göring "Autobiografie" at all, something from a private secretary..?

My grandmother had a friendship to a former female secretary in the RLM in Berlin, the young lady was one of the personal
secretaries for Göring.
Very long ago the old Lady gave me a few documents from her time in the RLM.

A menu from the marrigage of Hermann Göring and Emmy Sonnemann, from April 10th, 1935.
Also a very large "Sitzplan" (Seating plan) for the final banquet.

To make a long story short, all this was sold to a german collector of menu cards already in the late 1990s.
The seating plan was about 60x120cm large, showing the seating positions of all the famous persons back then.

The Lady, her name I will not mention, was sitting very close to Göring at the banquet.
The lady asked me never to publish her full name, and I keep that promise.

She passed away in her mid 90s, I remember her riding around with her bicycle, sitting for some tea with Oma, and talking...

Decades later, it was propably a mistake to sell this stuff, what to say, I wanted the money!

* The old lady always kept her past a secret all her life.
A National Socialist who was convinced to the very end, a lady who was upset and disturbed at the same time, often here in Germany.

Her first name was "Irmgard", born May 19th, 1916.

Not allowed to share her whole heritage, taking notes from Göring at the RLM.
Even the grandchildren do not like to get all this published, not even nowadays...

I am surprised that the fact that Goering was the highest Mason in Germany never gets brought up.

Since there are British Masons and American Masons one could consider it a highly likely theroy that Goering was helped by his fellow Masons.
I've never heard that, now that is interesting for sure.

Hi, This post is very interesting.
I'm looking for a relative of Goering who would have been to Canada (Quebec city) in the late '40 et in the '50. I don't know if I'm looking at a nephew, a cousin, a little cousin... Do you know any relatives of Göring who was in Quebec/Canada at this period?
It's possible that this man had been arrested in Canada around 1953-1957 et taken back to Germany because he was accused of spoliation of works of art. This is an hypothetis.
Thanks a lot for your input!

Hmmm, that's interesting, Goering appears to be wearing the Order of Tamara.

Photo taken in Linz, during the “Gauparteitag Oberösterreich der NSDAP”, 06.06.1932. Epp and Göring both delivered speeches in the city's Volksgartenhalle and inspected local SS and SA units.

I'm curious about the circular badge worn by Epp in this photo. Possibly a commemorative badge ("tinnie") for the Gauparteitag?

Best wishes,
~ Mike

Very informative and thorough, Torsten!

What do you say to the claim, that Karl Megerle https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Megerle was the brother-in-law of Göring?: "Von seinem Privatleben ist nur bekannt, dass er verheiratet und Hermann Göring sein Schwager war". The note tells us: Maria Keipert (Red.): Biographisches Handbuch des deutschen Auswärtigen Dienstes 1871–1945. Herausgegeben vom Auswärtigen Amt, Historischer Dienst. Band 3: Gerhard Keiper, Martin Kröger: L–R. 2. Auflage. Oldenbourg, München 1987, S. 219 (dort ohne weitere Angaben in Fußnote 39: „Görings Schwager Karl Megerle“).

Best

Hi Mike,

In which Austrian city did this district meeting (Gauparteitag) take place, there are different austrian badges from that time / year..?
