I'm not sure if he received any decorations during World War II- given his age (born 1873) and the type of commands he held (rear area, occupation/administration-type duties), it is unlikely he received much in the way of recognition during that conflict. But for a listing of his Great War and interwar-years awards, see: http://www.geocities.com/~orion47/WEHRM ... ERNST.html (bio courtesy of Gareth Collins).

Best wishes,

Adolph is said to have been placed on z.V. as early as 1 July 1935. Could this be an error or a typo? I can't remember any other case with such an early date, but several as of 1 July 1938.
There are times in history when staying neutral means taking sides.

1.2.1941 Generalmajor z.V.

Requin Marteau!
Will I still be able to experience that you will ever post a contribution to German awards that is orthographically and grammatically correct. I have corrected your contributions thousands of times, but there is not the slightest learning effect on your part. For God's sake, give it a little more effort!
