Are you sure the first name is Wilhelm,
though I have seen his name as Otto,
and last name spelt different

No problem, dear Harmel!
According to Keilig ("Rangliste des deutschen Heeres 1944/45"):
Willy Deyhle, 01.01.1943 Oberst i.G. (103), Pionier-Offizier, at last OKW (Stellv. Chef WFSt)
and
Otto Deyhle, 01.01.1943 Oberst i.G. (104), at last Pi.Btl. 45

This is Wilhelm Deyhle also (I think) with Jodl, Keitel and Hitler.

Hi,

Willy is not listed in the 01.08.1944 list of general staff officers, whilst Otto is. I think i might have found the reason at the website of www.volksbund.de:
Nachname: Deyhle
Vorname: Willy
Dienstgrad: Oberst
Geburtsdatum: 18.07.1903
Geburtsort: Ulm/Donau
Todes-/Vermisstendatum: 05.07.1944
Todes-/Vermisstenort: bei Belaja Luska 36 km ostw. Minsk

Nach den uns vorliegenden Informationen ist die o. g. Person seit 05.07.1944 vermißt.

Were Otto and Wilhelm Deyhle brothers? There is an interesting HPA file on Otto Deyhle which includes an unique medical report - disability suffered in the line of duty by frequent telephoning!

Hello,

What was the official assignment of Willy Deyhle in early November 1940? I guess that he was an assistant for Jodl at the OKW, but do you know exactly what was his post? Jodl's assistant? Member of the Abteilung "Landesverteidigung" in the OKW?
I guess he was a Major at this time, but I'm not sure of this and he might have been an Hauptmann.

Thank you.
Cheers,

askropp,

It's excellent, thank you. Do you know what was his job at the Abteilung "L" in the Wehrmachtführungsamt in November 1940?
Cheers!
