Hello Jürgen
May I ask You where Your Stellenbesetzungen come from ? If from NARA, which rolls ?
Do they cover Generalstabsoffiziere only or other officers too ? Are such lists also for 1941-44 available ?
Thanks, Rossano

Not only Generalstabsoffiziere, but predominantly.

I don´t have access to my files at the moment, but I do think it is NARA T-78 R-816.

It contains 15.02.1940, 10.05.1940, 01.07.1940, 15.02.1941, NOV or DEC 1941 (if I recall correctly) and one certain date in 1942 (which I do not recall at the moment).

Hello! Interesting subject! From my research, I knew that Willy Deyhle was present at his duty with the OKW-WFSt in the FHQu "Wehrwolf" in Summer 1942.

Several pictures from Willy Deyhle can be found at the BPK - Bilderarchive, showing him at work inside Sperrkreis 1 of FHQu "Wehrwolf" near Strishawka (Winniza). Several pics date him as per '26. August 1942'. So, stating that: "29.08.1942 Ia der 292. Infanteriedivision" means that he left his WFSt job only three days after these pics.

The three pictures were taken at the open square in front of the "Kasino" in the center of Sperrkreis 1. Hitler's private house and small concrete air raid shelter is at 100 m from this location. Today, the remains of the foundations and a large part of this open square still can be visited.

His name was already on my "Wehrwolf" personnel list of 1942.

Regards - Martin

Hello Martin
very strange the date 26.08.1942 for Deyhle still at OKW
He was at the 8.ID/JD. 00.02.1941 - 00.07.1942 (at OKW 00.02.1942 - 00.03.1942 temporarily only, this contradicting the data in his Karteikarte), then FR 18.08.1942
So I wonder what he was doing there on 26.08.1942, maybe a visit or date wrong ?

Hello Rossano!
Checked the date (I compiled for my "Wehrwolf"-research all possible calendars and dates; it is now a 200 A4 page calendar exclusively for the "Wehrwolf"-related periods); so 26. August 1942 is CORRECT (visit Himmler & Raeder in the FHQu).

Also Deyhle seems to be on duty. A "visit" is highly unlikely and nearly impossible. So, my conclusion is that the given dates in his bio are either incorrect; either 'theoretical'. My guess is that Deyhle is still working at the WFST. at this given date (26. August 1942).

There are also pics of Deyhle on duty at the WFSt. in June 1940 at the FHQu "Wolfsschlucht" in Brûly-de Pesche (Belgium).

Hello Martin
Deyhle at OKW in 1940 is OK, but as he was at the 8. Jäg.Div. until 07.42 (unless contrarily proved) another reason why he was at OKW in aug. 42 might be that from 07.42 he went back to (and served again at) OKW until 08.42

Here from the 1941 and the 1943 GZ handlist:

06.10.1936 - 14.02.1941: Abt. L

15.02.1941 - 17.08.1942: Ia 8. Inf. Div. / 8. Jg. Div., from 18.02.1942 to 25.03.1942: kdt. z. OKW (WFSt)

18.08.1942 - 28.08.1942: FR OKH (Dr WKr III, krank)

29.08.1942 - 11.12.1943: Ia 292. Inf. Div.

12.12.1943 - 14.01.1944: FR OKH (P 3)

15.01.1944: Ch. d. Gen. St. XII. A. K.

So if the 26.08.1942 date is correct he was just visiting, whilst being ill in FR.

Jürgen

Hallo Jürgen! Vielen Dank!
But....
1. My dates are correct - so 26. August 1942 = Deyhle in FHQu "Wehrwolf"
2. You can find more pictures of Deyhle, all shot in "Wehrwolf" - Summer 1942; and

3. what means "FR OKH" ???? and what it its location?

PS: Deyhle doesn't seem to be very ill on 26. August 1942.... :-)

Hallo Jürgen!
Thank you very much. At this date (26. August 1942) the nearly complete OKH-staff (still headed by Gen. Franz Halder) was located in the town of Winniza, a mere 8 km from FHQu "Wehrwolf". Including the man bearing your nickname.

If Willy Deyhle was 'on visit', he made use of one of the possibilities:
- a 36-hour one way train ride Berlin - Winniza; or
- one of the daily postal delivery airplanes, shuttling between Berlin and Winniza.

Regards - Martin

Hi all,

I just found Oberst Deyhle (18.7.03) as the Chef des Stabes of the XII. Armeekorps on the Vermisstenbildlisten of the DRK. So, to complicate things, this Oberst i.G. Deyhle was named Willy-Otto :-)
