The official AHF Axis Biographical Research quiz thread

We've had several different quizes running here in the forum for a while with great success and as was pointed out by Mike, no one existed in this section so I'm starting one here too.

The rules are very simple:
The first one to post the correct answer to a question, posts a new question (must be on the personalities of the Wehrmacht or of the organizations not covered in the other sections) and so on.

correct , Jan-Hendrik !

Just was looking up my data bank, to have the right spelling.
It's funny - he had a "thank you" card for congrats for the oakleaves, where on the left
upper corner the name is stamped : Feßmann
He did underwrite with Fessmann. (on other pics also)
Think with two "s" is right, he must have known it !

Over to you, dear Jan !

As Himmler was Kdr. of HGr Weichsel he sentenced a Generalmajor to death , this judgement was changed to a "Degradierung zum Grenadier" . In the fights at the Oder this GM/Grenadier was heavily wounded . After the war he had a hard time to cancel Himmlers judgement offically .

Who was it , dear Gentlemen ?

Hi to all,

I think it is Erwin Rommel and an early Wüstenfuchs - desert fox.

Okay, a simple one:

we are looking for a guy who was officer in the Austrian general staff and Feldmarschalleutnant during WW 1, Knight of Maria-Theresian-Order and Pour le Merite (!), retired after WW 1, than General z.V. in the German army after 1938.

Who was it?

Regards

Sorry, Dieter,

we are looking for a Feldmarschalleutnant (and not GdI) who became General z.V. which is quite more than the "Recht zum Tragen der dt. Uniform".

Regards
Christian
