Not sure how much detail you require, but Gareth Collins has posted a pretty detailed bio of Jeschonnek at http://www.geocities.com/~orion47/WEHRM ... ONNEK_HANS

Some Slovenian researchers are saying that he was of Slovene origin (Slovene family-name Ježovnik); his family came from Savinjska dolina to Prussia. Can anyone confirm this?

Generaloberst Hans Jeschonnek was (probably) of Polish origin. One of his brothers died in WWI and one was a concentration camp prisoner during WWII (I'm not sure of which camp).
Hans Jeschonnek committed suicide after the allied Penemünde bombings that set back the German rocket and jet programmes.

I am curious why was Jeschonnek's brother in a concentration camp?

Thank you for more information!

The brother of Hans Jeschonnek

According to my late father-in-law the brother of the general was arrested after the fall of Poland as an officer (?) in the Polish army/air force. He did, however, deny during his imprisonment any relationship with the general to avoid drawing any attention to himself. I have to speak with my mother-in-law to get more information about this.

Re the Jeschonnek family - they were of Polish origin - from Schlesien, either Hans Jeschonnek or his father was taken from his family and grew up in a German environment. The "brother" turned out to be a cousin when I dug deeper in the information the family had regarding this. He was however in a concentration camp and did propably survive because of his name. A some what different explanation that the one I was given earlier. I am sorry for this.
