Kommandantur Groß-Paris
Re: Kommandantur Groß-Paris
Georges
1) KVVChef is not a rank
2) Keilig reads : "1.5.40 Chef Mil.Verw.Bez. Paris" (other source from 1.8.40)
Apart that who was Chef after him ? Until when did the Bezirk Paris exhist ?

Well, laugh laugh…….
But a Chef, a Vizechef, a stv.Chef are no ranks but only designations.
F. ex. : the Chef or the stv. Chef (of that unit or command) was Maj. or Ob. or SS-BF. Xxxxxxx. So, Maj. Ob. SS-BF. are ranks...

Re: Kommandantur Groß-Paris
Well, I didn´t know (but as I said I´m NOT familiar with Verw.Beamten).
May I have the link pls. in order to have a full look at all uniforms ?
In the 2 most important books on german uniforms I have (by Davis and by Hettler) there is no mention of KV-Chefs as rank, but only on HV-Beamten with ranks such as Min.Rat, Min.Dir., Ob.Int., Gen.Int., etc., etc.
The photos above show both officer and general as KV-Chefs, so maybe this was their designation (like HV-Chefs), and maybe their ranks were the same (Min.Rat, Min.Dir. etc. etc.) too.

Re: Kommandantur Groß-Paris
Thanks, but I only wanted the links to all uniforms (incl. collars + straps). Will You ?
In any case in one of the links above I saw the following data :
Verwaltungsstab beim Militärbefehlshaber in Frankreich
Chef : 16.10.1940 - 01.08.1942 MVCh Dr. Jonathan Schmid
10.06.1942 - 01.08.1942 m.d.stv.F.d.G.b. MVCh Dr. Elmar Michel
01.08.1942 - 08.04.1943 MVCh Dr. Elmar Michel
Stellv. Chef d. Verwaltungsstabes 16.10.1940 - 01.03.1941 KVVCh Fritz Pfeffer von Salomon
01.03.1941 - 10.06.1942 KVCh Dr. Werner Best
But as far as I know the real/effective ranks for the above people were :
Mil.Dir. Schmid, Mil.Dir. Michel, and SS-GF. Best (I don´t know the other 2)

Re: Kommandantur Groß-Paris
When there are in France. they were mobilised so they only held military rank.
Note : civilian duties of the following were :
- Dr. jur. Schmid was Württembergischer Innenminister (State Inner Minister ofLand Würrttemberg) since may 1933
- Dr. Best was Ministerialdirektor since august 1940.

Sorry, I made a little typing error, not "Mil.Dir." but "Min.Dir." correct. I didn´t know that Dr. Best´s rank was Min.Dir. tooRossano wrote: ↑16 Oct 2019, 20:21Thanks, but I only wanted the links to all uniforms (incl. collars + straps). Will You ?

Anyway, these are the correct ranks, whilst MVCh or KVVCh are simply their Dienststellungen (like Befh,, or Kdr. or stv.Kdt. etc.) ……………….

Rossano,
es ist aussichtslos Ihnen irgendwas beibringen zu wollen, was Sie nicht ums Verrecken kapieren wollen!
It is futile to want to teach you something you do not want to lose!
