It might be Karl Kloß, who was a Reichswehr officer who retired as an Oberstleutnant. He was born in 1877, so he might be too old. If he was 65-year old Oberst z.V. in 1942, he likely would have been retired around then on age grounds, so he's still a possibility.

So this confirms my guess (that he was Ob. z.V.)
Most likely it is Karl indeed. Maybe in Personalveränderungen 1939/40 we´ll find when he became Oberst and from when he became Kdt. Feldkdtr. 588
One last question, Dave has him as Kloß but both in the Bekanntmachung above and in Personalveränderungen above his name is Kloss, what is correct ?

Until now it is the only hit I have found on him in Personalveränderungen. I'm working on first half of 1941 now... maybe more later.

I found some datas upon a Major (later Oberst) von Trotha. An austrian (?) who came as Ortskommandant Cholet on nov 1940 reach to KK Cholet (under FK Angers)
on 25.10.1941 moved as KK St Nazaire
listed on 2.43 as Oberst and Feldkommandant Nantes until end 1943 (replaced by Reinhardt).

Any data upon this officer welcome !

If he was FK 518 in febr. 43 (still as Maj. !), could he have been FK 518 from june 42 ?
I have him as Maj. and KK 502 from 24.10.41 (till june 42 or later ?)
But I miss him as OK/KK (no number ?) Cholet
