Still be grateful for any helpHalfdan S. wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021 20:50I have found a reference to three officers that in early 1945 were described as:
Hptm. Dill, Fahnenjunkerschule 2 der Panzertruppen;
Hptm. Giffel, Kdr. Fahnenjunkerschule der Panzertruppen;
Hptm. Klein, Infanterieschule Döberitz;
I've found a Stefan Giffel, but not enough to decide if he is the right person ... can anyone help?
Cheers

Sturm-Btl. AOK 1 :
Wöllm was Hptm. (still in DAL 5.44........)
Probably he became Maj. later, any doc. evidence for that+when ?

Re: Kdre / personnel der Kriegs- und Waffenschulen der Wehrmacht
Hello
1) The Schule in WK. XIII was in Bamberg, but in a doc. dated oct. 44 it seems that such Schule (in WK. XIII) was in Klattau.
Was this Schule moved from Bamberg to Klattau or Klattau is a mistake ? Whether Klattau OK or not, who was Kdr. in oct. 44 ?
2) Was the Schule in Oschatz first in WK. IV then in WK. IX (or inverse), or always in WK. IX ?
3) Was the Schule in Großenhain first in WK. IX then in WK. IV (or inverse), or always in WK. IV ?
Thanks
P.S.: a correction : In this Forum (and in other sources) I saw the Schule in Militzsch (in WK. VIII). Correct name is Militsch.

Re: Kdre / personnel der Kriegs- und Waffenschulen der Wehrmacht
Hello !
I would like to answer here the questions of Rossano, related to the
locations of the WK Reit- und Fahrschulen and to which WK they belong.
A good overview on the situation end of 1938 is listed in the book by Richter,
Die Geschichte der Deutschen Kavallerie 1919 - 1945, p. 312 (see below).
I marked the "disputed schools" in red and added Warendorf, which was obviously
formed only in 1939, for (to me) unkown reasons.
So by 1939, each WK has its own Remonte-school, except WK XVIII.
We came across this topic in the Seherr-Thoss thread and I made some mistakes
there (probably misreading my notes). I apologize for the unnecessary confusion
!

The situation is in fact very simple :
The Wehrkreis Reit- und Fahrschule of WK IV was always in Großenhain.
The Wehrkreis Reit- und Fahrschule of WK IX was always in Oschatz.
(Oschatz is located in WK IV, but the school was subordinated to WK IX.)
As far as I can tell, this situation remains the same at least until August 1944.
After that, I have no data.
To clarify everything, I will add a Chart from Nov. 1942:
Both school's are listed under WK IV, but clearly the school in Oschatz is belonging to WK IX.
I hope that settles this topic
!
Regarding the question whether the school XIII moved from Bamberg to Klattau:
I do not know, It would certainly help to see the document, what exactly it refers to.
In Klattau was Fahr-Ersatz- und Ausbildungs-Abteilung 13 (training drivers for horse drawn carts).
Best regards,
hero.

Hello !
Regarding Hptm. Wöllm :
You are correct, he was promoted to Major.
I found two different index cards on him, with quite different dates.
(Sources are in the file-names)
I would leave that to the experts here, which card is the more correct one.
He was first Führer (13.12.44) and then Kdr. (20.1.45) of Sturm-Bataillon AOK 1.
Best regards,
hero.
