Generalmajor Hans Hecker

#1

Among the bunch of pictures of the 29 ID (mot) recently offered at ebay I managed to discover the elusive Hans HECKER, at that time commander of the Pionier-Batallions 29 as an oberstleutnant. The picture must have been taken in Fall or early Winter 1941 before he was transferred to the Afrika Korps.
regards.

No way! The size of it is only 216 K and the system should allow to attach it.
For those of you that downloaded some of the pictures, the one I mean is named :
gd_7_20_07_H_046.
Enjoy it!

Hi Miocid,

You mean the one where the RKT was in the middle of the pic with a slight moustache. It was most likely him. But I was also thinking of Hermann Ruppert of 3/InfRgt 15(mot), albeit a Lt and a bit young for the older looking RKT in the pic. But Scherzer did show a very similar looking Ruppert

Cheers

Freiherr,
I believe you are referring to the same picture. I´m 100 % sure that the officer with the RK is HECKER.
I´m attaching this picture with HECKER and FREMEREY that has been around on ther Internet. You will see that we are talking about the same person.

According to Bradley, Gen. Hecker commanded 345. ID (mot), not 375th, which division didn't exist.

Hecker took command of PB 29 on 10.11.1938. The 29. ID took part in the occupation of Böhmen and Mähren in April 1939, so he should have also had the Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 1. Oktober 1938.
