Request for Identification of Generals and Admirals
Re: Request for identification
Hi Miocid,
You are right. Bamler had curly hair and Dittmar had slicked back hair. The remaining general -- can't tell if that was a RK (if any). If indeed a RKT, then it could pretty much rule out anyone we already know from this sector at this time. Two more IDs. Next to v Falkenhorst was Wilhelm Müller, Reichsministerium für Volksaufklärung und Propaganda , identified in a different pic in the Theilacker thread I posted. Immediately behind Tittel's head with glasses was Harald Franck, RAD Arbeitsführer.
Cheers
Freiherr

Re: Request for identification
Hi Gregg and Alex,
I had posted the same pic long time ago
http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... &start=480.
Dieter had put a specific date on it as 8.2.44.
In any case, this is very confusing. It certainly looks like Sinnhuber, Kmdr LXXXII Korps 10.7.43 - 1.9.44. But what I found as an added connection was this pic was auctioned off on Ebay with the caption GenMj Kunze. My supposition, based on facial features, that it was Wilhelm Kunze falls flat as all his regimental commands and a single divisional command were all outside of France. BUT
(1) Friedrich Kunze was Arko141, an element of LXXXII Korps. Biblio Verlag had him in FhrRes from 3.10.42 and then retired 31.12.42. But the connection is so temptingly strong!
(2) Wilhelm Kunze was succeeded by Hagemann as Kmdr 336 Div from 8.12.43. Nothing was recorded of him until he retired 0n 30.11.44. Would Sammlung Krug have a better explanation?
Forum member Akira had posted a very nice pic of Wilhelm Kunze since. What's in his pic seems to be the same Wilhlem Kunze in civilian clothes in Biblio and the GenMj Kunze here.
Also 5th man from the right looks a little like Rudolf Christoph FrHr v Gersdorff, CdS LXXXII Korps.
BTW a better pic of Johannes Oskar Brauer awaits you on pp56
Cheers

Re: Request for identification
Ok I will take a stab.
Based on the limited info we have of Karl Thoholte. I think A is him, Kmdr 18 Art Div
B is Hans Walter Heyne, Kmdr 82 Div, XXXXVI Pz Korps -- look at Scherzer. Biblio pic not that convincing
C is Hans Pieckenbrock, Kmdr 208 Div
E is Paul Scheuerpflug Kmdr 68 Div, XXXXVI Pz Korps
Cheers

Re: Request for identification
Hi Patricio,Stauffenberg joined the 1st Light Div in 1938 and would have been there

Let's see this one. Same source as above. Who's the general? There's also a Spanish Cross holder.
