VJK again!

The second general is (sure) G.d.Artillerie(artillery, 20.4.45) Friedrich Wilhelm HAUCK, 10.1.97-15.4.79. In Italy as GL Cdr. 305. I.D. and Kampfgruppe/-Korps Hauck (10. Armee, GO Vietinghoff).

Vienna

The third general looks like GLT Helmut FRIEBE, 4.11.94-14.1.1970.
I´m fairly sure about it.

Vienna

Hi all!

We already had a discussion about X.jpg. Some regulards indeed voted for Friebe (Helmut). But it can´t be him - not at all - if the pic (neck order) isn´t faked.

The man is wearing the Commander´s Cross with swords of the "House Order of Hohenzollern" a very high and rare award that was only awarded to very, very senior officers of WW I. One of them was the later "Chef der Heeresleitung", Gen. d. Inf. Walter Reinhardt. I don´t know a single further recipient (Reinhardt apart). Little Friebe was way too young and junior to get the award and didn´t receive it according to the pre war rank lists. But he received the Knight´s Cross of the House Order, the lower ranking grade.

Glenn actually raised a good point some months ago stating that he wondered if the man could be a Prince of Hohenzollern. I have to admit that this is the most probable solution provided the pic is not faked.

Hauck and Schaal - of course - I agree!

Regards!

Hi Vienna! Yes you are right. Friebe received the Ritterkreuz (3. Klasse) in 1917. This class was worn at the breast. I enclose a good colour pic of Raeder, courtesy of VJK, showing a Ritterkreuz (next to the EK2).

Mr. Unknown is wearing the Komturkreuz (2. Klasse). This was worn around the neck, but only by much more influential persons of WWI.

Hi gentlemen!

Sorry for joining in so late, but my modem burned out Thursday and I've been without internet since then :(

Thank you for Hauck and Schaal. I agree that the similarity to Friebe is almost 100%, but the awards worn by our mystery man clearly rule him out, so the search continues!

Many thanks again for resurrecting my old post - it's great to see long-standing mysteries gradually being cleared up.

Regards,

VJK

First one was most likely Rudolf Veiel. Second one with RK and DKiG?

Hello Freiherr!

Pics 6.7.04

I agree to the first one and I think the second pic shows
Wilhelm Ochsner, GL, 1898-1990!; KC 18.1.44, GC 30.5.42.
