Hi V!

Thanks for posting Eugen. I already have the pic but I am looking for a later pic, especially for a portrait pic. And I am not quite satisfied with our pic of Schroth.

As regards Austrian Generals (like Brantner) I think I will equip myself with a travelscanner in order to scan the pics of the Austrian War Archives (in the personnel sheets).

J.

Hello all,

Hmmmm, I had these two pics of Moser for a while. :P :P :P :D The shoddy one was from EBay a while ago, purportedly Moser as Kmdr of 299 Div chatting with Reichenau at the beginning of Barbarossa.

Cheers
Freiherr

Hi fellow researchers!

I have the pleasure of presenting to you for the very first time... General der Infanterie Willi Schneckenburger and General der Infanterie Walter Schroth. The long wait has finally paid off. I found the pictures in the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek site.

Best regards,

VJK

remarkable photos!

Post by Aleks » 30 Jan 2005 14:30

Dear Freiherr!
Thank you for remarkable photos of gen. Moser. For a long time I am looking for information about him. Some time ago I’ve already posted here, that he sat and died in prison in our city (Ekaterinburg, Russia). So members of our military-historical club even found place of his grave. The grave was destroyed, and now there is only a common stone for German prisoners. It is interesting, not so far from it there is a grave of father of our former president Yeltsin Nikolay and several graves of Heroes of the Soviet Union (We can compare them with RK holders). Some of them are also forgotten… Strange smile of History.
Again thank you Freiherr, these photos are very interesting.
Best regards, Aleks.

Hi!

I have here another General for identification. I can't quite make out the writing - could it be Metz?

Regards,

VJK

Hi!

1st line: z. V. Metz
4th line: Roßlau [Truppenübungsplatz]

And ... I think the resemblance to Hermann Metz is very strong.

Many thanks for your response gentlemen and for confirming my thoughts that this is indeed Hermann Metz.

Best regards,

VJK

Hello,

I have this original photo but I dont know the ID of this general. Perhaps anybody can help. I´m not shure what for an award it is, I do not think it is a knights cross.

What do you know about Adolf Hüttmann? What is this for an award he is wearing?
