Re: Request for Identification of Generals and Admirals
Jeremy,
it would be helpful if posters refrained from putting text over a subject’ s medal bar! It does not help identification when the orders and decorations are a major clue to providing a positive identification. It would appear that this Generaladjutant has an oakleaf on the ribbon of his Iron Cross, so an 1870/71 award. I should think, the former commanding general of the Gardekorps, General der Infanterie Karl Freiherr von Plettenberg. He died in 1938.
Regards
Glenn

Hello Andrey
I´m curious, to claim that he is Veith You must certainly have another photo of him for comparison + confirmation, will You kindly post that one too ?
Thanks, Rossano

Hello Rossano,
There is a original caption on the back of this photo.
Best,
Andrey.
Re: Request for Identification of Generals and Admirals
It is Veith. Probably the best photo available of him. Very elusive guy with a luckless career, even his death date is still unknown to me. Picture is from 1940/41 (Materna with RK, Veith still without Spange). Would love to see a photo of Veith in Africa, but I know none.
There are times in history when staying neutral means taking sides.

Photo with von Blomberg on page 684.
I think it`s future General der Infanterie Johannes Block (with Blutorden)...
Thanks,
Andrey.
