Morning all,
I am more of the opinion that this chap is char. Generalleutnant Heinrich Frhr. von Hadeln. Please note the Hohenzollern Ehrenkreuz 3rd class with swords and the China medal in 4th and 5th place respectively on his medal bar. I have attached images of both General Frhr. v. Hadeln and General Schmedes for comparison.
Regards
Glenn

An unforgivable mistake!

My sincerest apologies, amigo Thierry.

I can't understand why I wrote Heinrich Schmedes when I was sure it was Heinrich Freiherr von Hadeln.
Thanks, Glenn.

Hi all.
Could you help me ID these two Generals?
Ernst Schaumburg & Kurt Freiherr von Hammerstein-Equord.

Both Pour le mérite holders?
No, only Schaumburg; Hammerstein-Equord is wearing der Preußischen Johanniter-Orden around the neck.

Don't make it too easy! Of course this is Botho Elster.
And this is Alwin Wolz. A little research ("Who surrendered Hamburg to the British?") would have told you.
Er ist wieder da. Aber auch dieses Mal wird er nicht siegen!
