Request for Identification of Generals and Admirals
Re: Request for Identification of Generals and Admirals
Again, the circumstances often tell more than just the outer appearance, at least for me. So would you share from which clip the stills come and when or where it was taken?

Re: Request for Identification of Generals and Admirals
I wished I knew the "circumstances". Those two shots were chosen because I thought they were the clearest ones among the quite a few youtube clips that show them. Particularly they are from a film numbered M 1328 in the www.archi-akh.de webb. www.archiv-akh.de/filme?utf-8=%E2%9C%93&q=general#147
In these clips are a few identified generals (KNOBELSDORFF, OBSTFELDER, Hanskurt HÖCKER,Admiral von SCHRADER, Gen.d.Flieg. FOERSTER).
It appears that all those generals had been summoned to the AH headquarters sometime in the first half of 1944.
This is as much information as I can give you.
Cheers.
Re: Request for Identification of Generals and Admirals
What's that for a strange "Agentur"? I never saw a clip pieced together from such a variety of unrelated snippets. You're right, this is of no help.

On picture #1 I´m 98% certain that general #1 is Gen.Lt. Rudolf SCHUBERT.
Generals #2,#3,#4 and #5 are still unknown to me.
1: Rudolf Schubert
2: Hans-Georg Hildebrandt

Re: Ludwigslust 1945
Gregg, I rarely disagree with you, because I am bad at remembering faces, but I believe there is no way Hildebrandt could have been in Ludwigslust on 8 May. He was with the RSI San Marco division until the surrender in Italy (I assume you know the photos showing him at General Hays' HQ at the Lago di Garda), and he was transferred to Island Farm in 1947 "from Rimini".

Albert

Re: Request for Identification of Generals and Admirals
I think you are right. IMHO he looks very much like the later Gen.d.Inf. Theodor PETSCH.Bern Wimmera wrote: ↑18 May 2020, 09:54#11515 The General in the last two photos (film numbered M 1328) is Theodor Petsch
