To avoid mistakes, xxx is Friedrich Köchling on these three pictures.

Well, okay, I didn't count his shoulder as a whole person.
I still have no clue what these officers had in common and why they were bunched together. Knobelsdorff was in the FR and Courbière on sick leave, so they may have been anywhere. Köchling should have been in the Ruhrkessel while Boineburg's post at Bergen was outside (in fact, he should have been captured by the British). But evidence points to northern Germany in April, as unspecific as this is.
