Re: Request for Identification of Generals and Admirals
Looking to ID the Heer General on the far left. I know the other Heer General is Heinrich von Vietinghoff and SS General Karl Wolf. I'm guessing Italy 1945.
Re: Request for Identification of Generals and Admirals
Please help to identify this Luftwaffen General, thanks!
Re: Request for Identification of Generals and Admirals
Hello gentlemen
I refer again to photo @40 (page 899)
For me the photo obviously shows the first Kdr. IR.417 (Oberst Melchert, later general) along with the first Div.Kdr. (Gen. Boysen, 168.ID).
Melchert has the same black hair and the same hair cut like in a later photo when he was older and general. He led IR.417 from 12.39 to 12.41.
Boysen too has the same hair cut like in other later photos. I am not sure but I believe that it´s him. Infact after Boysen 2 more Div.Kdre led the 168.ID during that time (12.39 - 12.41), i.e. Mundt and Kraiß, but neither look like the general in photo, or am I wrong ?
I´d like to read Your opinion/comment on this matter
Thanks + rgds.

Re: Request for Identification of Generals and Admirals
Summer 1943 HrGr Nord. Enough divisions cycled through Laux's II Korps.
Standing at a Friedhof with II Korps WH generals. I can't figure out who it was. No one that could have come from from Odebrecht's III LwFD Korps. Not a Flak man either. But looks like at least a Luftwaffe GenLt from his collar tab. Perhaps just a DKiS?
Thanks
