Who is him then?
I think this man is Generalmajor Hermann Bacher.
I would doubt on Bacher. He was Höherer Pionierführer Generalgouvernement in July 1944. I have no hint that he would have been on the Cassino front. But maybe anyone has?

Regards

Christian
July 1944 at the Cassino front? I don't think so, amigo Christian. There's a typo.

Oberst i.G. Hans-Georg Schmidt von Altenstadt

16.06.1944 schwer verwundet
25.07.1944 Bad Tölz (im Lazarett seinen Verwundungen erlegen)
It´s the date from miocid, not mine...

Regards

Christian
Sure, Christian.

First Generalmajor is Horst Kadgien - DKiG 17.02.1944

Very late photo, likely 1945.

Sure, Christian.
[/quoteThe source of the picture was an auction in ebay. Yes, it´s not possible that it was taken in july 1944.Besides, july 1944 in Cassino wearing a leaher overcoat.....
Nevertheless, I should not rule out that the general in question is BRAUNER.

But the general in question is wearing the Generalmajor's uniform. Do we agree?

Walther von Hünersdorff?

Post by teejay22 » 19 Aug 2022, 16:43

I found this image online, during the battle at Kursk. Is the soldier far right at the back with the goggles Col Walther von Hünersdorff? I think it could be.

Hi Gregg
It´s amazing how You (and the other experts too) can recognize faces
(for ex. You with Werner´s rear head). Do You have a better one (side or front without cap) for him ?
Thanks, Rossano
