Hubert Schmundt at left.
Konteradmiral Richard Foerster as Flottenchef.

BTW: The German Marine had never a "Rear admiral" !!!! Please use the german determination for correctness !!

Hi Dieter,

You probably meant Konteradmiral Hermann Boehm, BH d Aufklärungsstreitkräfte at this time. Förster had much broader shoulders than man in question. KzS Schmundt was Kmdt at Mürwik

Hi.

Thanks all.

Dieter,
I could write the message in German, but it is an English-speaking forum.
I know the Rangliste of German fleet.

I agree, that at the left Hubert Schmundt, but do not agree, that in the centre Richard Foerster.
The photo is made in 1934 - 35 on an dem leichten Kreuzer "Königsberg".
Foerster was at this time already Vizeadmiral.

Hermann Boehm looks more preferable... Here one more photo. I think, that it is the same person. Schulschiff "Schlesien" leaves in training voyage to the South America, 1937.

Best regards
Alex

Liebes Twilight,
I could write the message in German, but it is an English-speaking forum
As Phil Nix said It is a German subject and we cannot expect everything to be translated. If you are going to continue this interest you will need to use some German especially the technical terms as most of our members take for granted to avoid misunderstandings and disputes. in case of doubt you can use the english translation in brackets - for example:

Befehlshaber des Ersatzheeres (B.d.E.) [ C.-in-C. Replacement Army ]
or
Ausbildungs- und Ersatz- (Ausb.u.Ers.; A-u.E.) [ Training and replacement ]

Thank you for your understanding

I know who 403 was. Sammlung Krug had him and I squared it away with Dieter and Alex. At 12 midnight I can't remember though. 8O 8O

Lastly, not Ott IMHO even with the Korps sign on the command car's fender. Ott was a burly man but with thinner jowls. I always thought he was Wittke 170 ID in Balkans Feldzug

No 403 at http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... start=3090

was Josef Lehmann.

YES!
His features, other than the spectacles, fit very well with the picture shown in the Biblio "bible".
Thank you Elwyn!
Cheers.
