Can someone confirm if this is Erich Schulte Mönting, later Vizeadmiral. He was at the time this photo was taken the Chief of Staff of the Commander-in-Chief of the Kriegsmarine (in this case Raeder). The thing is, he wasn't awarded the 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class and it is unclear if he recieved the 1939 Iron Cross 1st Class. But on this photo we can clearly see he is wearing Iron Cross 1st Class.

Raeder in the middle and Korvettenkapitän Kurt Freiwald on the right.

Thanks. The Rank Lists confirm that Schulte Mönting was not awarded the 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class so this must be the 1939 Iron Cross 1st Class.
