Hello Graveland
If that one is Kirchheim, why doesn' t he wear the Ritterkreuz too (like in other photos of him) ?

@39 Who is the Konteradmiral on the right? The photo description reads: "Commanding general of German Army Group G Blaskowitz inspecting defenses in France, June 1944"
@40 Who are the 2 admirals with Raeder? 1 ???, 2 Herman Densch ???
@41 Who is this admiral behind von Ribbentrop? Thilo von Seebach on the right. The admiral seems to be wearing a neck award.
Thanks

@39 I would say this should be Heinrich Ruhfus, Seekommandant französische Riviera.
There are times in history when staying neutral means taking sides.

@42 Who is the Vizeadmiral on the left? I think the Konteradmiral on the right is Walther Koehler? Does anyone agree?
For a time I thought the Vizeadmiral on the left is Kurt Slevogt since both him and Koehler were Richters at the Prisenhof in Hamburg at the same time period.
Koehler from 01 Mar 1943 until 31 Dec 1944
Slevogt from 10 May 1943 until 03 May 1945
The problem is, even though the Vizeadmiral on the left resembles Slevogt (and wears the U-Boot-Kriegsabzeichen that Slevogt recieved), he doesn't wear the Kriegsverdienstkreuz (1939) I. Klasse mit Schwertern that Slevogt recieved on 30 January 1942.
Three other Vizeadmirale (Junkermann, Wolf and Werth) that were at the Prisenhof in Hamburg didn't recieve the U-Boot-Kriegsabzeichen.
It is also possible that the Vizeadmiral on the left is Slevogt, but that he didn't mount the KVK1x, which is highly unlikely.
Thanks

Have you a date for this photograph? The man on the right is Konteradmiral z.V. Walther Köhler.

I don't have an exact date unfortunately. I only speculate it could be 1943 or 1944.

It is (Ing.) Werner Bettenhäuser on the right.

Hmm. It could be Bettenhäuser, but before he was promoted to Charakter als Vizeadmiral (Ing.), so the photo should have been taken between 01 October 1936 and 31 December 1939. At this time period he was Commander of the Naval-School Kiel (30 Sep 1931-26 Nov 1939).
Can anyone confirm if the photo was taken at that place?
Gregg, are you 100% sure it is Bettenhäuser?
