His name full is Franz Ferdinand Rogalski

Franz Rogalski entered on 1 October 1934 as a recruit the infantry regiment 22 and participated with this 1939 at the Poland campaign. In November 1939 he came to the 5th company of the infantry regiment 371, with which he participated in the west campaign and fought starting from June 1941 in Russia. In the autumn 1942 it was wounded doubly, came then into the infantry replacement battalion 389 and afterwards into I./infantry regiment 336, from which in June 1943 the storm battalion 8 of the 8th army developed. As technical sergeant and a combat patrol leader he particularly distinguished with the fights for Kirowograd and Tscherkassy and became to 17. March 1944 with the knight cross excellently. Appointed the reserve officer candidate, he was promoted in May 1944 to second lieutenant of the reserve and at the end of of 1944 aide II./infantry regiment 45.
