Hello

Rommel was in that area on the 8th and 9th of march 1944 according to Hans Sakkers book about Rommels inspections.

Rommel inspecting an "Elefantenfuß mit Beton als Stütze für Eisenträger". Most likely south of Calais.
Page13: At far left (back to the camera) is Johann Sinnhuber.

Hi Kurt,

Page 22 (first photo): the man at far left is Erwin Sander, Kommandeur der 245. Infanterie-Division (Dieppe).

Cheers,

Hello

Any one for ID of location and date and names of officers in these two pictures.

The presence of General Christiansen indicates that they are from Holland, but where, when and who?

Thanks in advance.

"Fieldmarshall Rommel visits the Atlantic-Wall before Invasion.

Behind him from right to left:

General Elfeldt, C. G. of 47th Inf.Div.
General Speidel, Chief of Staff to Rommel
General Sinnhuber, C. G. LXXXII. Army Corps
I myself (Heinrich von Sybel?), Chief of Staff LXXXII. Army Corps".

Thanks Gregg. So I believe the pic was taken on 18 April 1944 at Pas de Calais (according to other pics of Rommel and Sinnhuber at the same occasion and with the same outfits). The CdS of LXXXII. Armeekorps at that time the is Oberst i.G. Rudolf Christoph Freiherr von Gersdorff.

But it is not Freiherr von Gersdorff. That's for sure.

I have changed my mind. You are right, Alif, and it is Freiherr von Gersdorff.

I'd say the LW General behind Rommel is Erich PETERSEN and General behind him is Walter BOTSCH.

Hello

A new one from E-Bay.de, the caption say: "General Rommel Eisenbahn Ferngeschütz Feuerstellung bei Marquise 1944"

I dont think it is Rommel, any opinions? Rommel did not wear spurs, did he?
