On the extreme left was full Adm Theodor Krancke, OB KM im Westen
Tall general next to Rommel should be GenObst Dollmann, Kmdr AOK 7, as Riva Bella Ouistreham was near Caen and was LXXXIV Korps territory. No idea who GenMj next to Krancke was yet. Not DKiG so not Harko 309 Grassman. None of the Korp or Div Kmdrs of LXXXIV Korps fits the bill.

Rommel visited Le Havre on January 17, 1944 when Leuze was Le Havre Festungskommandant.

The officer to the right of the 2nd row is Hauptmann Simon, Leuze's aide-de-camp.

Dear Friends,

There's no doubt that these pictures had been taken in Le Havre.
The first one is no located yet (the one with bunker and brickwall) : it is probably Nice Havrais area in Sainte Adresse. The second one had been taken in front of Hôtel Dufayel in Sainte Adresse, where SK Seine Somme was situated.

I will try to locate the first one thanks to old post cards, and if I found the information, I will post it on the forum.

Anyway, it is a nice quizz for the begining of the year !

Dear Friends,

After some research, I identified the exact location of this picture with Rommel in Le Havre. This photography had been taken in Batterie Sainte Adresse near the former Palais des Régates. The brick wall with concrete is in fact one of the casemated gun emplacement of the battery (the western one, near Hôtel du Commerce) ! It is camouflage !

Yes Jos, you're right. According to identification by forum member Graveland : Behind Rommel are on the left Generalleutnant René de l'Homme de Courbière (Kommandeur der 338. Infanterie-Division) and on the right Generalleutnant Dr.-Ing. Wilhelm Meise (General der Pioniere der Heeresgruppe B)...

The other General on the left of Rommel (right side of the picture) is:

Generalleutnant Ernst Richter, kommander of the Oberfeldkommandantur Kopenhagen (later called Höheres Kommando Kopenhagen).

He had been appointed the very same day that the parade / inspection were carried out, see transcript from Rommel´s own notes for his visit in Denmark.

Qoute: "Tagesbericht vom 10. Dezember 1943:
10.00 Uhr nach Helsingör. Dort Besichtigung des Genesenden-Bataillons in der Kronenborg, wo Hamlet lebte.
12.30 Uhr Besichtigung des Wach-Bataillons Kopenhagen und Vorbeimarsch. Generalleutnant Richter, Oberfeldkommandantur von Kopenhagen, anwesend.
Nach dem Essen 14.40 Uhr Rückflug nach Grove. Landung dort 15.25 Uhr.
16.15 Uhr in Silkeborg, wohin Befehlszug verlegt hat.
