General Höring
Dear researchers!
I was told that Gen. Maj. Heinrich Höring was the first commander of the 8. Infanteriedivision (1934-1935).
Can anybody offer some facts about this general (date of birth, promotions). Did he die before 1939?
Thanks,
Stauffenberg II

Shortly after the unit was formed it was given the cover name Artillerieführer III until October 15th, 1935 when the Wehrmacht was officially formed and they openly expanded their armed forces. Just incase there is any confusion as to whether GenMaj Heinrich Höring did command it. He died in an air crash over Sschneeberg on 30/04/1935.

Gareth
