Good morning,

Oberstleutnant i.G. Hans-Jürgen DINGLER was on furlough on 22.11.1942.

He was replaced as Ia of the 3.Infanterie Division (mot.) the same day by Major i.G. Hans-Helmut von KIRCHBACH auf LAUTERBACH (08.11.1911 Freiberg - 17.02.1943 Krasnoarmyeysk), the division's Ib.

DINGLER was soon after flown in the "Cauldron" and sent to the XIV.Panzerkorps' HQ, where he was attached to the Ia Abteilung.

DINGLER was possibly the corps' last Ia after Oberstleutnant i.G. Walther MÜLLER was appointed its last Chef des Generalstabes on 13.01.1943.
DINGLER was flown out by order on 19.01.1943, landing in Novotchierkassk on 20.01.1943. It was after this date that he must have been appointed Ia/F of Heeresgruppe Don.

He died in 1978.
