Two questions about Rudolf Hoess (Auschwitz)

rudolf hoess

Evidently Hollywood got their idea about an affair between a Polish girl and Hoes in "Sofies Choice" from a real life situation? I found this on another web site "And when he had an affair with an Auschwitz prisoner, he extricated himself by sending her to the gas chamber."

What a ladies man and gentlemen!

Wasn't Hoess's wife somehow distantly related to Himmler?

This is all the site had and was wondering if any additional information is available.

I would be interested to know more about his life after he left Auschwitz and what he did between the time of the end of the war to the date of his capture.

What happened to his body?

Did his wife survive the war? I know, and I got this from sources other then Sophies Choice, he had a son and daughter I believe. What happened to them and what was their recollection of Auschwitz?

Well golly, I go asking any more questions it will be like asking one of you to write a book so I'll stop here now.

Thanks.
