An erroneous identification that I have seen in several websites...

Image
Id: This man is General der Panzertruppe Wolfgang Fischer (NOT Rommel)

Image
Id: And this other man is General der Panzertruppe Georg Stumme (NOT Rommel)

Rommel with the staff of Heeresgruppe B, January 1944. Can someone ID them (apart from Alfred Gause on the right)? Source : https://www.gettyimages.com/detail/news ... /548805607

Hello, could the officer on Rommels left side (Rommel looks up at him) be Oberst Hans Lattmann - Stoart [Stabsoffizier der Artillerie]? (12.1.1943 - 23.3.1944). The other 3 in the background I have not a clue, yet :-)
Regards
Kurt - kstdk

The man at far left (partially hidden) is Sigfrid Macholz.

Thank you Gregg. You meant far right?
This is said as Rommel with General Wilhelm Raapke (Kommandeur 71. Infanterie-Division). Does someone know where and when this pics was taken? because I couldn't found any connection between Raapke and Rommel, whether in North Africa or in Normandy.

In short, the connection between Raapke and Rommel is in Italy (August/ September 1943).

Unknown, Walther Nehring, Erwin Rommel, another unknown, and Ludwig Crüwell. The picture was taken at the time of Crüwell's birthday, March 1942. Source: "The Panzer Legions" by Samuel W. Mitcham, Jr.

On the two pictures posted by udondave at the top of this page the officer on the extreme left is the later GenLt Ernst GERKE.
Cheers
Miocid, I don't think that is GL Ernst Gerke.
The guy on the left seems to have shulder boards of a Hauptmann.
Gerke was already Generalleutnat on march 1943 when ha was placed in Afrika as 'Höherer Nachrichtenführer der Heeresgruppe Afrika'.
What about Sonderführer Dr. Ernst Franz (Dolmetscher Oberbefehlshaber Panzerarmee "Afrika")?
Check this photo from another Rommel topic (viewtopic.php?f=5&t=35452&start=30).

You are quite right, Lado. It is Dr. Ernst Franz.
