Post 161, page 11 could be later KC-holder and Oberstleutnant Dr. jur. Oskar Schrader! The photograph shows General Deßloch and comes from the estate of KC-holder Oberleutnant Gerhard Reichwald!

The video was taken on Tuesday noon, 29 September 1942, at Goebbels residence. Who is the Wehrmacht officer with Rommel, aside from Oberleutnant Alfred-Ingemar Berndt?

Request for identification of Wehrmacht officers with General Rommel

Hello everyone,

I have attached a photograph from 09.02.1944 of General Rommel's inspection visit to Battery « Barbara » 1/MAA 286 (Source: sgmcaen.free.fr, citing Alain Chazette as their source):

sgmcaen.free.fr describes the officer on the extreme left as the head of the VGAD, whilst General Hans von Obstfelder is standing to the left of Rommel. Can anyone help identify the officer to von Obstfelder's left and the two officers to the right of Rommel / officers in the background, please?

Any help appreciated.

Some identifications for various Italian generals in the topic.

Post #34: The officer in the middle is Ettore Bastico, while the other on the left is Curio Barbasetti di Prun.

Post #52: The Italian general in the middle is most probably generale di brigata aerea Ferdinando Raffaelli.

Post #69: The italian officer on the right (to the left of Rommel) is Attilio Teruzzi, the minister of Italian Africa.
The middle one is Italo Gariboldi (to the right of Rommel), Commander in Chief North Africa. The officer behind Gariboldi, on the far left,
is Mario Roatta, Chief of the Army General Staff at the time.

The Corps General on the right is Alberto Barbieri. Unfortunatelly, I haven't found who the general on the left is.

Lieutenant-Colonel Claus von dem Borne, first Chief of Staff of the Afrikakorps from 1 March 1941 to 5 October 1941, who had been Rommel's la in the Aufklärungsstab Rommel. Heinz Werner Schmidt describes him in With Rommel in the Desert as being a powerfully built, slightly corpulent man, with a full face, intelligent eyes and a good sense of humour. David Irving calls him 'calm and circumspect', but he fell in disgrace and was later sacked.

The picture was taken when Rommel first arrived in Africa, February 1941. Who is the officer speaking at right? He is wearing Gebirgsjäger insignia and also a veteran of the Spanish Civil War!
