Re: Knight's Cross Holders Photo Database
I'm terribly sorry, but in August 1943 the front line passed about more than 800 km to the east from Ivano Frankivsk.Jaime wrote: ↑26 Jan 2021, 13:39A very long term search...(at least for me).

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Photo Database
Noo, not terrible.
It's true, your correction is completely correct. That data appears in Traces of War. Very often I use ToW for the basic data, but in this case, as you say, it is a mistake. Even more, other sources cite that same impossible geographical location.
However, the photo as it appears in the source seems to be happily correct. It is the first and only photo I know of of Ludwig Beckmann, and it has been on my search list for many years.
What do you think?
Best regards to you, and thank's a lot, again, for your correction.

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Photo Database
I think it should be year of 1944. It is known that Ivano Frankivsk was liberated during Lvov–Sandomierz Offensive (13 July 1944 – 29 August 1944).
