I was wondering if anybody here knows who the first German general was who died in the Soviet Union?

Generalmajor Otto Lancelle, commander of the 121. Infanterie-Division, was killed by small arms fire near Kraslawa on July 3, 1941.

He was killed by a Russian sniper, on 03-07-1941, age 56, on the bridgehead of Kraslava on the Dvina, Latvia.
