Hi Gareth. I have been trying to find out more about Gustav Banse. As you would know he was stationed at Chateau Saint Georges Mötel near Dreux from 1940-43. A relative of mine now owns the chateau and we are researching its incredible history. We want to track down any descendants of Banse to see if he handed down photos, or even home movie film, from his three years at this grand chateau. It is a reasonable scenario. That is a long time to be in one place and, as commanding officer there,it is hard t imagine he did NOT at least take photos or have them taken to send to his family. I would greatly appreciate any advice of how to track down family. Not that I am in Sydney, Australia and do not speak German. Kind Regards, Max
