According to the M.W.Bl. 1914, Volume 41/42, Page 836 Kühlental was "auf ein ferneres Jahr kommandiert zur Dienstleistung beim Grossen Generalstab" starting 1 april 1914. This suggests that he was in his second year of attachment to the Greater General Staff. However, I could not find his name amongst the officers kommandiert zur Dienstleistung starting 1 april 1913 in the M.W.Bl.

This Kommandierung also suggests he attended the Kriegsakademie. Probably from 1909-1912, as I could not find his name in the officer lists for the Kriegsakademie Jahrgänge 1907 and 1908.

Hope this helped a bit.
Best regards,
Sven
