Re: Alex Bernhard Piorkowski Dachau commandant
Thank you for the information. I have found a bit more just browsing and searching the forum. I have found that there are some photos of Piorkowski in a book titled THE CAMP MEN. I went to my local library to see if they can get it for me and once the libarian seen the title she became verry snooty and said she would order it. Weeks later with no call that the book had arived I called and they could not find ant request from me for that book. She asked for the info again and said she would contact me later. She called a day later and said they can not order that book for me.I have found it for sale, but would like to look at it before I spent the money.I am wondering how many photos of Piorkowski there actually are? Is there anyone that would be willing to let me borrow their copy? I would treat it with upmost respect and pay for shipping to and from owner. I am just trying to put together some missing Family history. Thank you

Dachau, Germany, Scharfe and his entourage tasting the prisoners' food.
The album was prepared following a visit by SS-Gruppenfuehrer Scharfe, Head of the Legal Division of the SS, in the camp. The visit included a review of the Penal Unit, apparently of detained SS men, and a meeting with prisoners in the Protective Custody Division. A group of judges from the SS, police officers, SS Strumbannfuehrer Piorkowski, the Camp Commandant, and SS Hauptsturmfuehrer Zill, Commander of the Protective Custody Division, accompanied Scharfe during his visit.
